Characters
In our video we wanted to have more than just a compilation
of sport clips, we wanted to have characters, narrative, someone for the
audience to relate to.
Our main character is
a rugby player who wants to be the best at whatever he does. He is the main
character in our video and we decided Jake was an appropriate name. We felt it
was a simple memorable name, easy to pronounce, reasonably common and fitting
for a rugby player. We will need a boy with a fairly big build to convince the
audience he is a rugby player. We have decided to pay a rugby player to be the
actor for our film. He plays for the university and has agreed to let us film
him and use the ground they play rugby on.
The second character is Jakes girlfriend Naomi
who he lives with outside of university. She is his biggest supporter and Miss
sensible. During the story they fall out because she doesn’t agree with Jakes
decision making. We decided Naomi was a sophisticated name which goes well with
the character.
There isn’t really a
limit to the amount of characters we can have and we may have other rugby
players in the background but we really want to focus on Jake and his
girlfriend and it’s their story and message we are trying to show our audience.
